My name is Jami and I created this site to provide community space for students of the Hebrew language. I specifically provide information about the Hebrew language school, Ulpan Gordon, in Israel but also encourage the sharing of information not only about studying the language but also about living in Israel and the experiences we all have in this incredible journey.
I envision this site as not only useful for future students of Hebrew, but also past and present students who wish to provide information about their experiences. Perhaps we can even get to know one another better!
I came to Israel for the first time in 2006 for a three week whirl-wind tour of that beautiful country. Previously, I was in the United States military and spent time in Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar. I have an incredible thirst for travel and learning which is a large reason why Ulpan Gordon filled me so completely. After I graduated in 2007 from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in English, I decided to travel back to Israel.
My first class at Ulpan Gordon was in April 2008. I completed a three month tourist aleph level course and it ignited my love of Hebrew. I plan on continuing my studies at Ulpan Gordon in the future.
When I was researching information about studying in Tel Aviv at Ulpan Gordon, I found most of the information online to be either outdated or sorely lacking of substance. I want to change that with UlpanGordon.com! My goal is to give future students more information than I had and hopefully, less anxiety about their decision. I hope current students will also leave their opinions, tips, and stories here for others to read as well.
If you are a past or present student of Hebrew and would like to share your story or volunteer to be interviewed for this site, please send me a message via the contact form below or email me directly at contact@ulpangordon.com
