If you went to Hebrew school as a kid and already know how to read and write in it and can pray in it, but don't know what you are saying, be patient during that first week when you are just learning to read and write.

I know it will be very boring and don't be tempted to skip class. The man who comes around and takes attendance is very important. Funding and future class offerings are based on these attendance reports.

ooops! heehee... There's something with Google Maps and Israel that is NEVER correct. I read once somewhere that it's because of Israel's need for high security and it will not allow Google maps and Google Earth to accurately plot locations. This is especially true with the Google satellite pictures of Tel Aviv. They won't let you zoom in like you can in other countries.

I bought a really great map in English from Steimatsky's bookstore (the bookstore with the green sign). It saved me so many times!

Ulpan Gordon is really close to the sea about three block north of Ben Yehuda and Gordon street. I'm not aware of any particular neighborhood it belongs to. What are you considering the center of Tel Aviv? If it's Dizengoff square with the fountain and the mall (Dizengoff towers) then it'll take about 20 minutes to walk there. Luckily, Tel Aviv has those shared taxis that go up and down Ben Yehuda if you happen to be running late.

Hey Jami, I'm just curious, but it looks like the Ulpan is pretty far out from center, or is that just the way it looks on Google Maps? What neighborhood would it be considered?
Tnx
